WMHS - Featured Student of the Month -
Lauren F. Lauren is an outstanding person and has been chosen to be William Monroe High School’s student of the month. Lauren is a person that everyone should be lucky enough to know. She has attended William Monroe High School since August 2009. The land of the Dragons has been a better place the last four years because Lauren has made every moment more enjoyable. She has a smile for everyone and is always optimistic. Lauren has the ability to put others ahead of herself. Her character and leadership has led her to be elected President of BETA, William Monroe’s community service club. According to Ms. Lucchetti, the BETA sponsor, “Lauren has improved communication within the club. She is serious about her responsibilities and prompt about getting things done.” Lauren is also involved in William Monroe’s sports medicine program, where she assists the trainer, Andy Kelly, at school sporting events. Kelly commented; "Her character is a reason why she is successful in anything she does and, more importantly, why her peers emulate her through their actions. This makes her a great leader." Lauren’s love for others is also seen outside of school. She started a support group for teenagers with ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative colitis is a stomach disorder that can involve years of treatments and many surgeries. Lauren’s caring has helped many get through a frightening time. Lauren is an outstanding student. She works diligently to master the most difficult subjects that WMHS offers. Lauren’s GPA ranks among the top in her class. She is active participant in the school’s National Honor Society. Lauren enjoys her time at WMHS. She has many close companions at the school and treats everyone here as a friend. Lauren also appreciates the efforts of the staff, commenting that, “a lot of teachers truly care”. Lauren is excited about her future. She plans on attending a four year college and beginning a career in athletic training. |
