![]() I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of you to the William Monroe Middle School community. It is my absolute pleasure to be the new principal of WMMS and I look forward to working with all of the students and families of WMMS. In order to build a stronger community within the school, WMMS will be focusing on establishing Professional Learning Communities (PLC). Through this collaborative model, teachers will be working to create common pacing and common assessments, while also closely analyzing student data to help inform and improve instruction. This process will be ongoing throughout the year. Building a community of engaged learners is one of the most important aspects we can provide at WMMS. Students who are engaged often automatically see relevance to the work they are doing. With this engagement and relevance comes an urgency to perform at the highest achievement level. Having fun will be another key component for our school. I want students, parents, guardians, staff, and visitors to be able to walk into our building and feel it is an environment of learning, fun, and excitement. I want students to be able to have interactions with their teachers in which it would not be rare to see a student and teacher having a discussion about last nights game or an upcoming event. These types of discussions help us to build bonds with one another. Powerful bonds lead to trusting relationships on both ends which leads to increased achievement. In conclusion I would like to thank you for visiting our website. Please come by the school to meet myself and the staff. We look forward to you joining our community. Sincerely, Kyle J. Pursel |
