The Battle of Stanardville ReenactmentCome for a fun and historical weekend at The Battle of Stanardsville Reenactment. Every September history buffs from throughout the South come to Greene County to reenact two Civil War battles, the Battles of Stanardsville and Rio Hill. The event features exciting battle scenes, historical demonstrations, carriage rides, shopping, a period-accurate ball and plenty of activities for children. Strawberry FestivalFor 20 years, Greene County's Stanardsville United Methodist Church has hosted its Strawberry Festival in the month of June. While the menu is full of delicious desserts and treats, the festival also brings out local musicians, crafters, vintage cars and plenty of activities for children. Greene County Fair Experience the fun and back-home warmth of a real, rural county fair and its people. Music, carnival rides, home made food and craft exhibits, farm animal auctions, great fair food and much more can be enjoyed in a beautiful setting at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
